Ceremony of greetings with the diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of Albania

The Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to Italy and non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Albania, Dra Maria de Fátima Jardim, traveled on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, to the capital Tirana where she participated in the greetings ceremony to His Excellency Mr. President of the Republic of Albania, Dr. Bajirm Bagaj, at the Brigades Presidential Palace.

During her stay in the Republic of Albania, the Hon. Madam Ambassador held a courtesy meeting with Ms. Meri Shahini, Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania for sub-Saharan Africa where she thanked her for the audience and hospitality given to her and for the support provided to Angolan athletes who traveled to the city of Tirana for the world championship in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), in November 2023.

The Hon. The Ambassador stressed that during the meeting she emphasized that the conditions were created to boost cooperation, collaboration and reinforce the exchange of experience of missions and dialogue between the two countries Angola and Albania, and the interest of cooperation in the education sector, sport, commerce, agro-industry , research, mining and other areas of cooperation.

It was concluded that officialization and dialogue would be useful for the signing of a Memorandum of Public Consultations to exchange opinions in various areas of collaboration and consultation on priority issues that will be established not only at a bilateral but also a multilateral level.

The priority of speeding up contacts between APIEX and also the Albanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was also highlighted to encourage the emergence of an Angola/Albania Chamber of Commerce and hold a Business Forum in the area of ​​Agro-Industry, commercial exchanges and technologies.

It was also proposed to continue to bring closer dialogue between higher education institutions, innovation and entrepreneurship, and to bring the private sector and other partnerships closer together.
