FAO’s emergency support to Ukraine’s agrifood sector during the war

Since February 2022, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has become a lifeline for Ukraine’s agricultural sector, supporting over 200 000 rural families and more than 15 000 farmers and agrifood producers. FAO’s emergency assistance helps resilient Ukrainian farmers keep producing food, caring for their animals and sustaining their communities – even in the hardest times. FAO provides seeds, animal feed, cash assistance and vouchers, grants, generators and grain storage solutions, while also supporting safe land use, ensuring food exports meet safety standards and protecting animal health. Supporting Ukraine’s agriculture today means securing food for millions tomorrow.
