The project for the design, construction, management and maintenance of the port facilities at the new port of Barra do Dande in the Angolan province of Bengo and its respective concession with financing will be the subject of an international public tender, determined by presidential order no. 76/18, of 28 June, the Angolan press reported.
The order signed by João Lourenço creates a commission to assess the public tender, coordinated by the general director of the Maritime and Port Institute of Angola, Victor Alexandre de Carvalho and including the principal advisor of the Ministry of Transport, Raul Campos, as well as a representative of the Ministries of Finance and Construction and Public Works
The assessment commission will be governed by the provisions of the Public Contracts Law and the chairperson of the assessment commission, after completing the tender evaluation process and, in compliance with the other tender procedures, will submit the final report to the Ministry of Transport for approval.
President Lourenço recently revoked the decree signed by the former head of state, José Eduardo dos Santos, approving the Barra do Dande port project, awarded for US$1.5 billion after the general elections. (macauhub)
